Two new pieces of content have just been published on the Excess Lab, exploring practical aspects of life on board: lightning safety at sea and cooking solutions for life aboard a catamaran.
The first article looks at a question that is rarely discussed but often raised by sailors: how to react when facing a storm at sea and what systems exist on board a catamaran to help reduce the risks associated with lightning. Through clear explanations and practical recommendations, the Excess teams provide useful insights to better understand and anticipate these situations.
The second piece takes the form of a community poll focused on an everyday onboard topic: cooking. Gas, induction… or a combination of both? Each solution offers different advantages depending on usage, energy autonomy and sailing programs. The goal is to gather feedback from the Excess community to help inform future equipment choices.
Two different topics, but the same ambition: sharing useful knowledge and encouraging exchanges between sailors around real-life experiences at sea.
