EXCESS 11: THE MOST COMPACT IN THE RANGE, THE MOST SURPRISING AT SEA

What you feel first at the helm is lightness. With a light displacement of 9,541 kg, the Excess 11 responds instantly, without ever losing stability. The square-top mainsail, spanning 54.5 m² in the standard version and up to 58.6 m² with the Pulse Line pack, captures every breath of wind and turns the slightest gust into pure acceleration. Add the optional Code 0, up to 62 m² of extra canvas downwind, and you get a catamaran capable of opening up a real lead on a reach without ever forcing it.

The self-tacking jib does the rest: tacking becomes effortless, no sheet handling required, so you can sail with two people or eight without ever feeling overwhelmed.

But the real surprise of the Excess 11 is its draft of just 1.15 metres. Enough to reach anchorages other catamarans can only watch from a distance, slip into shallow coves, and drop anchor right where the water changes colour.

Once the anchor is set, comfort takes over. The saloon galley makes no compromises: refrigerator, gas hob and oven as standard, with a microwave and freezer available as options, so you can prepare real meals wherever you are. Portholes and deck hatches open to an intermediate position to let air circulate at anchor, each fitted with its own blind and mosquito screen. Blackout curtains on every window, soft-close drawers in the galley: every detail has been thought through so that life on board stays just as enjoyable as the sailing itself. As an option, a television in the saloon extends the evenings dockside even further.

Rated Design Category A, the Excess 11 is certified to handle rough seas up to force 9, with up to eight people on board in offshore configuration. Enough to sail far, whether with a small crew or the whole family, with the same confidence.

And for those who want to push exploration even further, the Excess 11 is also available in a Riders' Edition version. Pulse Line rig, black helm station, custom dinghy, Sunbrella upholstery inside and out: the boat becomes a true floating base camp, built to ride on the water, in the water, and beyond.

Compact on paper, the Excess 11 is above all proof that size has never been the point at Excess. What matters is what you feel at the helm, and once the anchor is down.
