Excess launches its first documentary: “3000 MILES”!

What if crossing the Atlantic became more than just a dream?

With 3000 MILES, Excess releases its very first documentary and takes you inside an extraordinary adventure: a transatlantic crossing experienced from the inside, in real conditions, as a couple and as a family.

Through this immersive film, Excess tells the story of what is not always seen: preparation, doubts, excitement, life on board… and that small inner voice asking, “What if it were possible?”

Crossing the Atlantic by catamaran: an impossible mission? Not for them.

For several months, the Excess team followed two crews taking part in the ARC and ARC+, during their very first transatlantic crossing.

Two crews, two boats, one shared desire for adventure:

  • Caroline & Kalle, a Dutch couple sailing with their children aboard an Excess 11

  • Caroline & Jonno, a French–South African couple at the helm of an Excess 14

Two different stories, one common thread: the desire to push their limits and live a unique experience by catamaran.

An adventure that echoes a dream many share. And if the idea already resonates with you, we also invite you to read our article:

At the heart of the action, even before departure

3000 MILES does not simply document the crossing. The film dives behind the scenes:

  • boat preparation,

  • learning and training,

  • provisioning management,

  • technical adjustments,

  • fears, doubts… and the excitement of departure.

Between careful organisation and raw emotions, the documentary shows that a transatlantic crossing is as much a human challenge as a nautical one.

Gradually, everything falls into place. Movements, bodies, minds.
Atlantic mode is on.

More than a crossing, a life experience

Learn. Share. Live.
Three words that perfectly capture this adventure.

On board, Excess catamarans become more than boats. They turn into living spaces for connection, transmission and personal growth. As a couple or as a family, the crossing reveals, brings people together and transforms them.
